The goal of this pre-calculus unit is to get to re-familiarize ourselves with how functions can be use to model real-world situations and to understand how a function can be defined in terms of a number of different "parts". Piecewise functions are a big part of everyday life and we're going to better understand how they can describe everyday scenarios, while maintaining the mathematical rigor of functional notation.
